Privacy Policy

Effective October 2, 2026

This policy explains what Matcha Gusto (“we”) collects through matchaagusto.com, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect

When you join our list

Your first name, your email, the topics you pick, and, only if you ask for texts, your mobile number. We also save a record of your consent: the exact words you agreed to, the date and time, the version of that wording, which form you used, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address that can’t be turned back into the address.

When you send an event request

Your name, email, and anything you choose to add: phone, event date, guest count and details. We use this only to reply about your event. It doesn’t add you to our list.

When you share a photo to the Gusto Wall

The photo, your Instagram handle, an optional caption, and a record of your permission (with a hashed internet address). Your phone shrinks the photo before upload, and we strip any hidden location and camera data from it again on our server. Photos stay private until we approve them, and you can ask us to take yours down at any time.

When you browse

We count anonymous events, such as “someone opened the menu” or “someone joined the list”, as daily totals. These counts don’t use cookies, don’t identify you, and don’t store your internet address. We don’t use Google Analytics, ad pixels or any tracking tools.

Some technical data is handled by the services that run the site: Cloudflare (which protects and delivers the site, and may set a short-lived security cookie), our hosting provider, and Google Fonts (your browser downloads the site’s fonts from Google, which receives your internet address and browser type, as with any website that uses them). How we use it

• To send the updates you asked for: specials, pop-up changes, shop news and offers.
• To send texts, only if you opted in to texts.
• To reply to event requests.
• To show approved photos on our site with your handle.
• To keep the site secure and stop spam and abuse.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising. We don’t rent or trade our list.

Text messages

If you opt in, we’ll text you about pop-up changes and specials. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent isn’t a condition of any purchase. Your number is never shared with or sold to anyone for their own marketing.

Emails

Every email we send includes a link to unsubscribe and our mailing address. Unsubscribing works right away and covers texts too. After you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details, we keep only a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email, so we can make sure you’re never added back by mistake.

Who we share it with

Only service providers who help us run the site and send messages (our hosting provider, Cloudflare, and Resend, which delivers our emails; a text-message service too if we start sending texts), and only to do that job for us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• List members: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details.
• Event requests: as long as we need them to plan and keep records for that event.
• Gusto Wall photos: until you or we take them down.

Ask us at any time to delete anything sooner.

Your privacy choices and California rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we have about you, or to stop contacting you. California residents also have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, along with the right not to be treated differently for using them.

• Do not sell or share: we don’t sell or share personal information, so there’s nothing to opt out of. We still honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals from your browser.
• Sensitive information: we don’t collect it.
• Shine the Light: we don’t share personal information with others for their direct marketing.

To make a request, contact us by a direct message to @matchaagusto on Instagram. We’ll confirm it’s really you (usually by replying to the email on file) and respond within 45 days. An authorized agent can make a request for you with your written permission.

Children

Our site isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Security

The site uses encrypted connections (https). Customer data is stored on our server with restricted access, and our admin area is password protected and rate limited. No system is perfect. If a breach ever affects your information, we’ll notify you as required by law.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll tell list members by email before it takes effect.
